Fresh Fruit Skewers
I love almost any kind of fruit, and it's really
fun to put it on skewers with marshmallows. In these pictures I'm using
chunks of cantaloupe, red and green grapes, and strawberries, but you can use
any fruit that you like. If you have mint in your garden, you can put some
of the mint on the serving plate to make your skewers look even prettier.
Ingredients Needed:
 |
-
A package of marshmallows (you
can use fancy ones like these that my Grandma gets in Amsterdam, or
you can use the big white or colored ones from the grocery store)
-
Four or five different kinds of
fruit; if it is watermelon or cantaloupe, have an adult help you cut
it into chunks. If it is strawberries or grapes, just wash
them. You can use any of your favorite fruits like melons,
pineapple, berries, mango chunks, or grapes
-
Wooden Skewers; these are 5" skewers,
but you can use 4" or 6" too.

How to Make Fresh Fruit Skewers
|
 |
 |
- First you take a skewer and put
either a piece of fruit or a marshmallow on it. Here I'm
starting with a marshmallow.
|
- Then just add pieces of fruit to the
skewer. It doesn't matter which order you put the fruit and
marshmallows on the skewer. It can be just any way you want
|
|
 |
 |
- Keep putting fruit and marshmallows
until you fill the skewers up.
|
- This is how they look when they are
finished! You can eat them now or cover them with plastic wrap
and put them in the refrigerator until it's time to eat.
